Did you know that Wicksteed Park is dog friendly?
Wicksteed Park isn’t just a fun day out for humans. It is also a dog friendly park where your pup can be involved in the family fun.
With 281 acres of parkland and meadows to explore, Wicksteed Park is the perfect destination to enjoy the outdoors and include your dog in your family’s adventures.
In the Garden Café, your dog can join you on your thrilling day for a puppacino or dog treat whilst you enjoy a coffee or a traybake.
Around the park you can find dog water stations to keep your pup hydrated and plenty of trees to enjoy a moment of shade on hot sunny days.
If you are searching for a dog friendly overnight stay, why not book a camping trip at the park?
Dogs are welcome at the campsite for your stay, meaning you enjoy the beauty and excitement of the park for even longer. Find out more about camping at the park here.
Wicksteed Park also hosts different dog centred events that are just as fun for the owners as they are for the dogs.
Woof Wag will be hosting their first ever Woof Wag Festival at the park this May. Their event includes a wide range of activities with something for everyone and every dog to get involved in.
The Woof Wag festival explores the world from both ends of the lead and is a guaranteed day of fun for all.
Woof Wag Festival is free to enter and takes place on Saturday 16th May 2026 from 10am until 4pm. Find out more here.
Santa Paws in the Park is Wicksteed Park’s annual event where your dog can enter categories to show off their waggy tail or their cutest Christmas jumper for the chance to win a prize!
Alongside competition categories there are a range of other activities and stalls for you and your pup to explore.
2026 will see Santa Paws return for a third time with category tickets expected to sell out fast so make sure you keep an eye on Wicksteed Park’s socials and website, so you don’t miss a thing.
You can see pictures from Santa Paws in the Park 2025 here.
If you’re looking for your new dog walking destination, or for something fun for you and your pup, make sure to come along to Wicksteed Park.
Please note that dogs are allowed in almost all areas of the park but must always remain on a lead and you must always clean up after them.
Dogs are not allowed into children’s play areas, ride areas (excluding the Wicksteed Park Railway on special dates only), wildlife designated areas and other animal areas.

The Wildlife Lodge with Kettering Nature Group
Kettering Nature Group (KNG) is working with Wicksteed Park to create something special: a building that will be alive with wildlife. This project, called The Living Lodge, will turn an ordinary structure into a sanctuary. Bat boxes, bird boxes, insect hotels, climbing plants, and rainwater features will all be part of the design. Every wall and corner will be used to give nature a home.
