WICKSTEED PARK VOWS TO MAKE 2019 FIREWORK CELEBRATION BEST EVER 29th October 2019

Wicksteed Park has vowed to make its 2019 fireworks celebration the best one ever despite an incident of serious vandalism which destroyed this year’s Wicker Man.
The large structure was due to be lit alongside the bonfire at this Saturday’s event but was destroyed in a fire last night.
The park has vowed to not let this incident affect the evening’s proceedings.
The 18th annual bonfire night, hosted by BBC Radio Northampton’s John Griff will include a huge firework display as well as a funfair, and local DJ Big Bopper to entertain the crowds.
In addition to this there will also be a superb laser show telling the story of the Witches of Wicksteed.
The event starts at 5pm and the fireworks will begin at around 8pm. Customers who buy ride wristbands on Saturday will automatically get free admission to the fireworks event.
The park has also now announced that it will be opening up The Pavilion Ballroom for a free family disco with Wicky Bear after the fireworks have finished.
Rachel James, Wicksteed park’s head of sales and marketing, said: “As hugely disappointing as this incident is, we won’t allow it to affect the evening, and with the addition of our first ever laser show, we are sure everyone will enjoy what is always a great event.
“Unfortunately, it will not be possible to rebuild the Minotaur Wicker Man in time for Saturday so to help ensure families have a great night, people are invited to enjoy the additional entertainment in the Pavilion at the end of the evening.”
Tickets for Saturday’s event are on sale for £4 (online) or £5 (on the gate).
Car parking is free on the night. It is best to arrive early as it does get busy.
