Re-opening Wicksteed Park spring 2021
Wicksteed Park is celebrating the long awaited re-opening of a selection of its rides and attractions after what has been a very difficult year for everyone.
The Park is looking forward to opening some of its favourite rides on Saturday 17th April and will run these rides every weekend until the remaining rides are available on the Saturday 22nd May.
The park will be offering ride wristbands for just £12 per person which allows visitors to ride as many times as they like throughout their day.
Rides to look forward to include everyone’s favourite The Sway Rider, The Carousel, Aviary, Roundabout, Cups and Saucers, Crazy Golf, Mini Jets, Rock ‘n Tug, Wicky’s Mini Rangers, Wicksteed Park Railway and an exciting new Meerkat enclosure!
Tickets to ride these attractions will also be available for £2.50 per ride allowing those who don’t want to ride all day the opportunity to still enjoy some of the fun.
Tickets and wristbands will be available to purchase from the ticket office on the day and we are hoping online booking with resume in the following months.
Wicky Bear will also be making an appearance over these weekends as he has missed everyone so much!
The Park as also started the implementation of its exciting new @play project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which will continue its transformation and preserve its unique history.
The @play project will include a heritage playground showcasing the early rides which park founder Charles Wicksteed used to transform the way children play in this country and across the world. It also includes the restoration of the ‘Fountain Lawn’ and the park’s upper floor of the Pavilion (the Captain’s Lounge) which is currently being refurbished to create a new Learning Centre and events venue with views across the park from a restored veranda walkway.
This is the news everyone at the park, and all our loyal visitors, have been waiting for. We are delighted and can’t wait to welcome everyone back to enjoy themselves and have fun after what has been such a difficult year. We can’t wait to see you!
