Join the Education team this Christmas for a very special school visit, with a Dickens Twist!

Come celebrate Christmas with your class, here at Wicksteed Park.

Following on from our busy summer season, you can now join our Education team for a very exciting Victorian treat! This December we are offering a vibrant Dickens themed session of curriculum relevant activities for Key Stage One and Two.

Sessions will start with an abridged reading around the Christmas tree, of the classic Dickens tale, ‘A Christmas Carol’. This will set the scene for our 2-hour session, where the focus will be on what a Victorian Christmas would have been like, and what children would have made and done to celebrate the time.

There will be an opportunity to look at some traditional Victorian toys, as well as play parlour games! Pupils will create their own Victorian Christmas tree decorations, and together we will learn more about the invention of postcards in the era, before the children write their own Christmas tale to send home.

To complete this look back to the Victorian era, there will be a ride on our wonderful Carousel.

Sessions are £4.50 per child, with a maximum of 35 children per session.

Sessions will take place in our Learning Space

Booking essential, to book your spot or for more information contact Laura at education@wicksteedpark.org or call 01536 512475 ext 235.
