40 Years of 2Tone!

15th June 2019

We are celebrating 40 years of 2 Tone music with some of the original names and creators of the great sound.

3 Fantastic bands join us for an evening of 2 Tone, Ska and Reggae. Neville Staple Band, Beat Goes Bang and Roddy Radiation and the Skabilly Rebels.

Neville Staple, Legendary frontman of The Specials, Fun Boy Three and Special Beat, also known as The Original Rude Boy, is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once but twice.

Featuring not only one but three of Birmingham’s statesmen of the 2 Tone era, The Beat Goes Bang provides all of the class and style from a time when music mattered. Everett Morton, the original drummer for The Beat, has brought together some of Birmingham’s most talented artists to reform as The Beat Goes Bang, bringing that classic sound and feeling back to the streets of Birmingham and beyond.

After 32 years of treating audiences to his own Ska-Rockabilly brand of “Radiation” therapy, Roddy Byers is stepping away from the side of the stage as the Specials’ lead guitarist and into the center spotlight as the frontman/guitarist of his newest and best musical endeavor, the SKABILLY REBELS!
