Can’t make the ball?
We’d love to see you there, but if you cannot make the ball then you can also support by purchasing a reprinted version of Charles Wicksteed’s vision in writing, from Charles himself. He saw a real need for provision of outdoor, healthy play for the children of the early 20th century and set about building a park to that end.
This booklet, entitled ‘A Plea for Children’s Recreation after School Hours and after School Age‘ explains, in his own words, Charles’ journey in this endeavour, his struggles and why he believed so passionately that it was the right thing to do and comes with a foreword by Great Grandson Oliver Wicksteed.
